The sera are pooled samples collected from healthy adult goats, horses, chickens, swine, rabbits, cats, and dogs. Each one is heat-treated and centrifuged to remove precipitates and then filtered. The sera are tested with appropriate antibody to check for possible cross-reactivity. Cat and dog sera can be added to secondary antibody diluent to adsorb potential cross-reactivity with each animals tissue.
