Bioreactors utilize innovative membrane technology to separate the cell cultivation area from the media chamber. Cells and cellular-secreted products with a MWCO over 10kD are retained between two non-cytotoxic membranes. The upper semi-permeable membrane allows continuous nutrient diffusion and waste elimination. The lower membrane provides direct oxygenation and ensures optimum gas exchange. Separate ports give access to either media or cell cultivation chamber allowing easy change of expended medium without interference of cell growth, function, or gas exchange.|Developed for the expression of biomolecules in anchorage dependent cell lines. The observed product concentrations in the cell compartment are in the range of 1-5 mg/ml and are often several hundred times higher than what is obtained in either roller bottles or tissue culture flasks with the same cell type. Ideal for use with CHO, BHK, HEP2 or any other adherent cell line, CELLine Adhere is available in a one liter format. The flask is reusable and greatly reduces the downstream processing cost of concentration and purification. Serum usage is also reduced as a result of the compartmentalized chambers in the flask. The result is a low cost bioreactor for the production of expressed biomolecules.
