The plates are sterilized by -radiation or ethylene oxide, are DNA-, DNase-, RNase-free, and are packaged individually wrapped. The polystyrene microplates are designed to lessen cross contamination, ensure outstanding recovery, and offer many options with color and number of wells. Three different bottom shapes are available: round (U) with no edges, flat (F) with a flat bottom, and curved (C) bottom. For easy identification of the surface type and well location, the 96-well standard format plates feature an orange color-coded embossed alphanumeric lettering for easy identification of wells. With a chimney well type of design, each well is separated from each other to reduce the risk of cross contamination. The 384- and 1,536-well microplates feature rounded wells which allow optimal uniform meniscus formation. Strip plates, as well as a handful of convenient accessories for use with the microplates, such as lids, rubber rollers, and sealing films are offered.
