The film backing resists tears and maintains a smooth, consistent cutting surface without imperfections that can transfer through to the finished piece. In collision repair it is ideal for leveling minor dust nibs and smoothing mismatched orange peel in paint or gelcoat before compounding and also scuff sanding. The film backed abrasive is faster and easier to use than traditional scuffing pads, plus there’s no drying time that you get with wet sanding. This sheet abrasive is part of our film backed abrasive family that also includes rolls, discs and belts.

Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness and strength, it is widely used for sanding and finishing applications.
